Rihanna has unveiled a meaningful new tattoo — and the inspiration behind the ink came directly from her children.
The 38-year-old superstar recently added fresh body art designed around playful doodles created by her young kids with partner A$AP Rocky.
The couple share three children together: sons RZA Athelston, three, and Riot Rose, two, as well as their seven-month-old daughter, Rocky Irish.
Rihanna’s latest tattoo, located behind her knee, features abstract scribble-like markings that appear to mirror the imaginative drawings of her children.

Celebrity tattoo artist Keith Scott McCurdy — better known as “Bang Bang” — documented the tattoo session on Instagram and even shared the original artwork used as inspiration.
The childlike sketches were drawn on paper decorated with stickers from the animated series PAW Patrol, making the tattoo even more personal.
Rihanna appeared delighted with the sentimental design, smiling as she admired the ink in a mirror while wearing tiny black shorts.

Motherhood has become one of the most important parts of the singer’s life, and she has frequently spoken emotionally about raising her growing family.
During an interview with Extra last December, Rihanna admitted she gets emotional watching her children grow up.
“The babies are amazing,” she said. “Their faces are changing, their necks are getting longer — I can’t handle it.”
Rocky also praised their family dynamic, joking that he was pleasantly surprised by how well their two sons get along despite being close in age.
“Usually kids that close fight all the time,” he said. “But it’s a happy family.”

Although he acknowledged there can be occasional jealousy surrounding their baby sister, he emphasized that the household is filled with love.
In past interviews, Rihanna has described Rocky as her “best friend” and said becoming a mother completely transformed her life.
Speaking with Vogue in 2023, she called motherhood “everything” and admitted the experience of giving birth was overwhelming and surreal.
The singer has also candidly discussed the fears that come with raising children, particularly young Black sons, calling it one of the most daunting responsibilities imaginable.
Despite the challenges, Rihanna says parenthood has only strengthened her bond with Rocky.
“Everything changes when you have a baby,” she explained, “but it’s only brought us closer.”

The couple welcomed their first child in 2022 before Rihanna famously revealed her second pregnancy during her halftime performance at Super Bowl LVII in 2023.
Their third child arrived in September 2025.
Rihanna later told Interview that the COVID-19 pandemic unexpectedly accelerated her relationship with Rocky, allowing them to grow closer much faster than they otherwise would have.
She added that she always believed he would become an incredible father.
“The one thing I always knew I wanted was motherhood,” Rihanna said. “Everything else in my life has been a surprise.”
