Sandra Bullock shares rare glimpse of her two children

Sandra Bullock gave fans a rare look at her family life over Mother’s Day weekend, sharing touching throwback photos of her two children shortly after joining Instagram last month.

The 61-year-old Oscar-winning actress posted a heartfelt image showing her children — 16-year-old Louis and 13-year-old Laila — sitting on her lap when they were younger. Bullock adopted Louis in 2010 and Laila in 2015, and has long chosen to keep their identities private out of respect for their wishes.

During a recent appearance at the CNBC Changemakers Summit, Bullock explained why she stepped away from acting for several years, emphasizing that her children remain her top priority. She said she would rather focus on raising them than spend long periods away working if they needed her support.

Alongside the family photos, Bullock also paid tribute to the women who shaped her life. She shared a nostalgic snapshot embracing her late German grandmother, affectionately calling her “Omi,” and thanked her for everything she taught her over the years. Another throwback photo featured Bullock as a child alongside her younger sister Gesine Bullock-Prado and their late mother, Helga Meyer Bullock, during a snowy day in Europe.

“To all the mamas, no matter how you came to be, Happy Mother’s Day,” the actress wrote to her millions of followers, adding that motherhood is “an honor of a lifetime.”

Gesine later responded with a loving comment, saying their late parents would be proud. The sisters lost their father, John Wilson Bullock, in 2018, while their mother passed away in 2000.

Bullock also gave a sweet nod to pet owners by posting a playful photo of herself cuddling with her rescue poodles and celebrating “all the fur mamas out there.”

Several celebrities joined the comments section with emotional reactions, including Lily Collins, who thanked Bullock for being her “first onscreen mama” after they worked together on The Blind Side. Mindy Kaling joked that the emotional post made her cry early in the morning, while Isla Fisher and Olivia Munn also shared warm messages.

Bullock is now preparing for her highly anticipated return to the big screen in Practical Magic 2, where she will reunite with Nicole Kidman as the Owens sisters. The sequel to the 1998 cult favorite Practical Magic is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 11.

The actress is also reportedly attached to several other upcoming projects, including a new film for Sony Pictures and a romantic thriller reuniting her with longtime co-star Keanu Reeves.
