Sharon Stone is mourning another devastating loss after announcing the death of her older brother, Mike Stone, at the age of 74.
The Basic Instinct star shared the heartbreaking news on social media Wednesday, revealing that Mike had passed away following a lengthy illness. Alongside a photo of her brother, Stone expressed her wishes for him to rest in peace and signed the message with the names of her three sons — Roan, Laird and Quinn.

Friends and fellow celebrities, including Melanie Griffith and Hilaria Baldwin, reacted to the emotional post with messages of support.
Mike Stone worked as both a musician and actor, appearing in several films during the 1990s, including Eraser and Malevolence. He also shared the screen with his famous sister in The Quick and the Dead, which co-starred Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The latest tragedy comes shortly after the death of the siblings’ mother, Dorothy Stone, who passed away in 2025 at age 91 after suffering multiple strokes. Sharon had cared for her mother at her Beverly Hills home during her final years and later opened up about their often complicated relationship.

The actress has also endured the loss of her younger brother, Patrick Stone, who died in 2023 at age 57 from heart disease. His death came only 18 months after the passing of his infant son River, who died from organ failure at just 11 months old. Sharon publicly described Patrick as a kind and humorous soul while grieving his sudden death.
Stone’s father, Joseph William Stone II, died in 2009, though the actress remains close to her sister Kelly Stone, who is involved with the charity Planet Hope.

Over the years, Stone has spoken openly about the hardships her family faced while growing up in rural Pennsylvania, including poverty and abuse. She has also candidly discussed her own near-fatal health crisis after suffering a stroke and brain hemorrhage in 2001 that left her with only a slim chance of survival. In her memoir The Beauty of Living Twice, she revealed it took years to recover basic skills such as walking and speaking properly again.

Despite the personal tragedies, Stone has continued working and recently returned to television with a role in Euphoria alongside Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi.
