When Angelica was born on May 6, 2018, she was absolutely gorgeous. She had a cute snub nose, beautiful eyes, and a heart-shaped birthmark on her face known as a “port wine stain.”

Angelica’s mother, Marianne Bowering, said that although many friends and relatives were understanding of her daughter’s peculiarities, there are people who allow themselves to make offensive comments.
“The worst comment I’ve heard online was from someone who asked if her face had been pressed into a hot frying pan. He basically said her face looked ‘burnt’,” Marianne told The Mirror .
Angelica was called “ugly” and “defective.” These cruel words only added to the difficulties her family faced. But the strength of spirit and love of her parents helped them overcome this and turn the situation into a story of inspiration and acceptance.
The power of love and support
Marianna does everything to ensure that Angelica grows up knowing that she is beautiful just the way she is. To support her daughter, the 27-year-old mother decided to paint a copy of Angelica’s port-wine stain on her face.
“The idea came to me on Vascular Birthmark Awareness Day, where people are encouraged to draw a heart on their cheek,” Marianne told the Epoch Times .
“At first I just drew a heart, but then I thought: why not depict Angelica’s entire port-wine stain?”
She added: “I wanted to be as beautiful as she was.”
Embracing Natural Beauty
Marianne and her husband have never considered their daughter’s port-wine stain something to be ashamed of. They try to make Angelica see it as part of her unique beauty.
Before painting the stain, Marianne decorated Angelique’s wine stain with glitter to make it “shine.”
Taking care of your health
Children with port-wine stains on their faces are at risk of developing other diseases, but fortunately, tests showed that Angelica is completely healthy. Her parents only check her eyesight regularly, as there is a risk of developing glaucoma.
Angelica, you are incredibly beautiful. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. ❤️
