Even the oldest and most unsightly furniture can sparkle with new colors if you approach restoration creatively. An ordinary table that has been gathering dust at the dacha can be turned into a real designer object.
The main thing is a little imagination, a bit of patience and the right materials. What is needed for restoration
The first step is to find the table itself. It may already be in your house, or it may have been inherited from your grandmother or bought at a flea market.
The main thing is that it has a solid construction. But the appearance is fixable! For the transformation you will need:
Quick-drying universal glue
– it will provide reliable fixation;
A bright vinyl tablecloth with an interesting pattern
– it could be a classic floral print, abstract lines or even an animalistic design;
Paint
– it is best to choose white, beige or pastel shades;
Brushes and roller
– for even application of paint;
Scissors, ruler, measuring tape and pencil
– for precise cutting of the material.
Stages of transformation:
Preparing the table
Clean the surface from dirt, dust and old coating. If necessary, sand and fill in uneven areas to obtain a smooth base for further work.
Painting
Apply paint in several thin layers, drying each one thoroughly.
Decorating
Measure the table top and sides. Transfer the measurements to the tablecloth, adding a small allowance to neatly close the edges.
Carefully cut out the blanks. Apply glue to the surface and attach the cut out elements. Smooth them out with a roller, removing air bubbles.
The finishing touch
Once dry, you can coat the surface with clear acrylic varnish for protection and durability.
If desired, add additional decorative elements: edging, gold patterns, hand painting.
This update will not only give the furniture a new life, but will also add coziness and individuality to your home. Now you have an exclusive thing made with your own hands!
