Woman Unable to Buy a House with a Mortgage, So She Designed and Built a Floating House with a Luxurious Interior

This woman couldn’t buy a house with a mortgage 😢 So she and her two children decided to live on a boat 😲 Inside the floating house there are three bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom, and you can do yoga on the roof of the boat 😍 Take a look at what this wonderful house looks like from the inside ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Jen has been living on a boat for over three years. Unable to get a mortgage, she designed and built her own boat.

“I was looking for a boat with three bedrooms, but they’re hard to find, so I ended up designing this one,” Jen said.

Jen drew a plan and marked where she wanted the windows. She has two children, so she needed one bedroom for each.

The boat builders completed the steel work in seven weeks, delivered the boat from Liverpool and launched it into the water using a crane.

It took her 10 weeks to finish the interior of the house, and the entire process took 17 weeks.

The cost of the steelwork and engine was £87,000 ($112,000), plus another £10,000 ($13,000) for the interior.

Jen uses a hose or bottles to fill up with water while at anchor. The water tank holds 1,000 liters, enough for two weeks.

They use the roof of the boat as a garden for yoga, meals and relaxation.

The boat must move every two weeks, covering 32 kilometers in one direction over the course of a year.

Inside the houseboat, Jen installed a standard IKEA kitchen with ample counter space.

The living room also serves as a study where Jen performs massage and holistic therapy sessions.

Jen lives without a TV, so her children read a lot. Their bedrooms have bunk beds with extra storage.

The bathroom has a spacious double shower with a rain shower and a composting toilet.

Jen’s bedroom has a full double bed, a cozy spot for morning tea, and a front deck where she loves to watch the sunsets.
