French actress Genevieve Page dies aged 97
French actress Genevieve Page has died at the age of 97, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
Page died at her home in Paris, her granddaughter, actress Zoe Guillemot, said.
At 16, Page began acting in the theater, and at 24, she made her film debut. The second film in her career was Fanfan-La Tulipe, where the actress played the Marquise de Pompadour, with whom Gerard Philipe’s character meets.
Among her most famous films are the Hollywood film El Cid with Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren, Three Rooms in Manhattan by Marcel Carné, The Gentle Rogue by Jean Becker with Jean-Paul Belmondo, Belle de Jour by Luis Buñuel, and The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes by Billy Wilder.
