Meghan Markle startled the internet by going makeup-free for a touching chat with a friend. The bare-faced former actress arrived on her first podcast, and fans quickly commented on the same thing.

The new podcast edition, which aired on April 28, featured Meghan, 43, and Jamie, 47, sitting together in warm black sweatpants and sneakers. Meghan wore a special garment embroidered with the names of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, which she previously wore in an Instagram video.

Jamie started the Jamie Kern Lima Show audio episode by talking about how much she enjoys spending time with Meghan in her two rocking chairs at home. “Usually, when we get together, we’re in our comfy sweatpants and no makeup. So that’s how we are now, lounging in our cozies without makeup. Jamie continued, “And I’m inviting you to join us in the rocking chairs.”

Meghan appeared emotional in a short Instagram video promoting the show, wiping away tears as she discussed personal issues and self-worth. “I wasn’t expecting that one!” Meghan responded with a laugh. “They’re just great, it’s so great — this is why it’s nice not to have makeup on.”

She shared a poignant reflection: “We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something.” To establish that you are sufficient. You have to prove that you are attractive enough. You must establish that you are intelligent enough. You prove that you’re a decent wife or friend… and I was like, ‘I’m just so done with the prove it game.'”
She went on to say, “If you can’t see it, I don’t need to explain why—that’s your loss. Because I know I’m a terrific friend, a good mother, and a decent human being. I know how I present myself, and I enjoy being able to be that person around the people I care about.”
Jamie, visibly moved, replied, “Hallelujah. I am becoming emotional right now. Getting out of the “prove it game” feels like joy and tastes like liberation.

Later in the broadcast, Meghan recounted a sweet family ritual that impacted the audience even more. She revealed that she set up private email accounts for both Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Every night, she writes them a message with a lovely recollection, a witty quotation, or a moment she wishes to recall.
“At some time in their lives—perhaps when they’re 16 or 18—I’ll say, ‘Here’s an email that I’ve been storing for you. “For your entire life, here’s everything and every moment that I wanted to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you,” Meghan said, visibly tearful.

Meghan’s candid and sincere chat had people admiring her sincerity, but her makeup-free, fresh look stole the show.
“Wow, Meghan doesn’t need make-up at all!!! “Beautiful,” said one fan. “She is stunning and very remarkable. Haters can be hateful. “Diana would have adored her,” said another.
