Hundreds of eight-legged crawlies are seen “raining from the sky” in this uncommon video, which has been described as a strange and risqué phenomena.
In a spectacle akin to snowflakes falling, hundreds of spiders with eight actual limbs plummeted from the sky.
The scenes that are currently being uploaded online were filmed at Sao Thome das Letra, which is located in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
After being shared on social media, the terrifying picture left people perplexed, but academics have now clarified the science underlying the odd phenomenon.
Experts and biologists gathered to explain the spider sky, revealing that the hordes of insects were on a massive web, mating in a ceremonial “orgy.”
Through a local news channel, one biologist, Kayron Passos, provided background for the issue.
It’s a spider orgy, he declared. In order to fertilize the eggs, the females store the seeds of various men in a structure known as the spermatheca.
“In this manner, the female increases genetic variability and guarantees that she will have multiple distinct offspring.”

Passos went on to explain that the females keep gathering seeds for subsequent use even after fertilizing the eggs.
“These offspring are more resistant to diseases because of this behavior,” he stated.
Spiders ‘don’t stick together,’ but some species will exhibit more’social behavior,’ according to arachnologist Ana Lucia Tourinho.
“Spiders typically do not stay together, but some species exhibit this social behavior of forming colonies,” stated the specialist, who holds a PhD in biological sciences.
“The juveniles and offspring have a greater food supply when the group stays together.”
‘The colony normally arises every year, most of them in the colony are related, they are usually generations of moms and daughters together, but once they mate they will scatter,’ the researcher, who has been studying the creepy crawlies for almost thirty years, continued.
The clip stunned viewers despite its scientific context, and a month after it was posted online, it was picked up by the local media.
One bystander called it “spider heaven,” and another related a personal encounter with the natural phenomenon.
It happened in Tiradentes, in my brother’s garden. It’s always late in the afternoon. “When I first saw it, I was afraid,” they stated.
