Japanese IT Company Hires 10 Cats

They reduced employee stress and reduced layoffs.

Japanese web design and app development company Qnote hired 10 cats full-time for one of its offices . The space was remodeled to make it comfortable for both animals and people. In particular, they installed 12 feeders and litter boxes , and protected the walls and furniture from scratches .

In addition to the cats, the office employs 32 people who are animal lovers. Employees who have allergies or are simply indifferent to the furry creatures were offered to work in the next room. One of the furry team members is already 20 years old, another was rescued from a car accident, and the third was taken from a cat cafe .

The company’s employees loved the cats and even began jokingly assigning them titles: manager, chairman, and so on. The experiment helped employees feel less stressed , reduced the number of layoffs, and even attracted new people to the team. Company members went to work more willingly, knowing that cute animals were waiting for them there.

Netizens were delighted with the idea. “I’m so jealous of the human side of the team,” wrote one. “A company full of love. It deserves to make money and grow,” noted another.
