Brendan Murray recently competed on The X Factor UK, hoping to win one of the six chairs in the show’s “six chair challenge.”
Murray walked the stage and told the judges that he was come to realize a dream, and that music is his love. They wish him good luck, and he turns to confront the other contenders who have already taken their seats on stage. Brendan then begins singing “Everybody Hurts,” a song written and recorded by the popular band R.E.M.

Everyone, even the judges, was surprised by his voice. You can also see the other contenders arguing about how great he sounds. When Brendan reaches the song’s high notes, the other contestants’ heads drop, realizing that one of them would not be on stage for long.
Brendan sings with such intensity that you experience all of his emotions as well as the feelings intended by the song’s creator.
Brendan inevitably receives a standing ovation from the audience and judges after concluding the song, and he collapses in a squat on stage, appearing to be in tears.
Brendan is informed by Simon Cowell that he is in a different category than the other candidates. Another judge approaches Brendan and professes a wish to speak with him before hitting the button that sends the participant to the next round of the show. Brendan is pleased, and everyone is eager to hear this amazing artist again.
