Not long ago, this small and neglected house stood on the brink of collapse. The roof had given way, the windows were gaping holes letting in wind and rain, and the floorboards were rotting and unstable. It was a heartbreaking scene.
An elderly couple had once called it home, but as the years passed, they no longer had the energy or resources to maintain it. Slowly, their beloved home deteriorated under the weight of time and neglect.
Then came Anna Ehrman, a young and passionate designer with a gift for restoration. When she stumbled upon the crumbling house, she didn’t see decay—she saw potential. Determined to bring it back to life, she decided to give the home a second chance.
Outside, the garden had turned into a wild overgrowth of tangled plants and shrubs. The once-lovely property was nearly unrecognizable. The house, built in the 1970s and measuring just 76 square meters, came with collapsing sheds and a forgotten apple orchard.
The interior was just as damaged—walls covered in mold, missing furniture, and creaking, uneven floors. But Anna didn’t let any of that stop her.
Rather than start from scratch, she carefully preserved as much as she could. She enlisted skilled craftsmen who used traditional woodworking techniques, and together, they began the transformation. The home’s exterior was repainted a rich yellow, adding instant warmth and charm.
Downstairs, she designed a sunny kitchen, a snug living room, a small but functional dining area, and a clean, bright bathroom.
Upstairs were two compact bedrooms, but through clever design, Anna was able to fit beds, desks, and storage, making the space cozy and practical.
One of the standout features is the bathroom—a serene space with a classic cast-iron tub, a vintage chest of drawers, and soft floral curtains that add an elegant, old-fashioned touch.
What was once a decaying structure is now a charming, comfortable home once more—thanks to one woman’s vision and care.
