Rex had been by Anna’s side for over ten years, a loyal friend and companion. At first, she thought the dog was just nervous, but soon realized there was something else going on.
Anna stopped. Rex pressed himself against her legs. He didn’t bark or growl, he just looked into her eyes with a piercing gaze.
“Rex, come on, darling,” she whispered, hoping he would get up. But the dog didn’t move. The guests’ whispers grew louder. Anna’s father was about to take the leash.

The groom hugged her tightly and agreed without hesitation.
