Dejana Bako has faced challenges since birth. She had to accept her body and its capabilities. Despite being born without upper limbs, she has achieved success as an artist and athlete, and recently became a wife and mother.
Dejana was born in Novi Sad on December 9, 1994. At the age of nine, she joined the Society of Mouth and Foot Artists, which helped develop her artistic abilities. After graduating from the School of Design and the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad, she exhibited her works throughout the Balkan Peninsula.
Known as the “girl with wings,” Dejana has become a symbol of empowerment in Serbia. She has achieved significant success in sports, becoming the 2019 world champion in para-taekwondo, a major achievement for the country.

In February 2023, Dejana celebrated another important milestone: she gave birth to her first child. She admits that motherhood has affected her athletic career, but she is resolute in taking on the challenge. Dejana has adapted to caring for her daughter using her legs and is enjoying the joys of motherhood with her husband.
