Buzzing with Purpose: San Diego Couple Rescues Bees and Hearts (Video)

Many people don’t fully realize how crucial bees are to our ecosystem. Not only do they pollinate plants, but they also help keep certain insect populations in check.

Even when folks do understand their value, there’s often hesitation—understandable, considering a bee sting isn’t exactly fun. For many, the sight of a swarm is enough to send them running.

That’s where San Diego couple Jeff and Julie come in. They’ve taken it upon themselves to safely relocate bees from homes and buildings, ensuring the hives are protected and moved to safe, sustainable locations.

Their process, as seen in a recent video, is surprisingly calm—especially when they locate the Queen Bee. Once she’s secured, the rest of the hive usually follows without much fuss.

But don’t be fooled—Jeff and Julie always suit up. They’ve been stung plenty of times and never underestimate the risk. After all, disturbing a hive means dealing with thousands of angry bees, and protective gear is their first line of defense.

Their mission is driven by passion. With each successful rescue, they transport the bees to local beekeepers, where the hives are nurtured and won’t return to their original spot.

Julie also shares an important reminder:
“Bees aren’t just pests—they’re essential. They’re responsible for pollinating about a third of the food we eat. Without them, plants can’t reproduce, and our food system would collapse.”

Thanks to their efforts, awareness is growing—and so is appreciation for our tiny buzzing heroes.
