The first step was to dismantle the drawers. One of them was removed completely to create an open niche – more functional.
Then I carefully sanded the entire surface to remove the old varnish and smooth out any uneven areas 🪵.
The top lid, which was in good condition, was left unchanged, but I coated it with new varnish to restore the shine.

To give the furniture a modern look, I chose a matte white paint for the frame, which contrasts beautifully with the dark wood of the countertop and shelf, which is as close to the original shade as possible.
The old legs were replaced with modern black supports, which gave the furniture lightness and a modern look.

The end result is a real transformation 🪄: old, massive and dark furniture has been transformed into a stylish bedside table or a versatile piece of furniture, ideal for a minimalist design.
This project allowed me to not only save furniture from being thrown away, but also to rediscover the joy of creative craftsmanship. A great way to combine eco-friendliness, economy and aesthetics!
