During a routine walk through the forest, my gaze caught something unusual: a small black creature was lying in the grass.
It was almost completely hidden in the shadows and seemed to be part of the ground. At first glance, it was an ordinary lizard. But something about it immediately seemed strange: it barely moved, looked exhausted and was clearly injured.
It was a pity to leave it to die, so the lizard was carefully picked up and taken to the nearest veterinarian. There, something unexpected happened. Upon seeing the creature, the doctor suddenly recoiled, his face turning pale.

“Don’t touch her under any circumstances!” was all he could say before placing the lizard in a closed container.
As it turned out, it was not just a lizard. The creature belongs to an extremely rare species, on the verge of extinction.
There are almost no such individuals left, and they were kept under strict protection – as part of a closed program to restore the endangered population.
The lizard somehow escaped from a breeding center located near the forest. It was quite an incident – it was already considered missing.

Thanks to the discovery, specialists were able to return the creature to safe conditions and begin treatment.
An ordinary walk ended with an unexpected participation in the rescue of a unique creature. And although the story quickly fell into the hands of zoologists, they asked not to spread the word – too much interest in such a rare species could be too dangerous.
