Instead of opting for a new and modern apartment, the couple chose an old, rundown place that hadn’t been renovated for decades and was in poor condition. Soon after buying it, they hired an interior designer to begin a complete overhaul.
The designer proposed a bold and unconventional plan, which surprisingly won the couple’s approval and proved to be the perfect solution. The apartment spans 57 square meters and required significant time, effort, and investment.
The renovation started with a layout redesign. They decided to use white throughout the flooring, walls, and ceiling. The old front door was replaced with a new one. To the left of the entrance, a niche was created to store sports gear such as a snowboard, skates, and a skateboard.
Across from the entrance, they installed a storage unit with mirrored doors that visually expanded the space and added a touch of elegance.
The kitchen mostly stayed within its original space, but the entrance was relocated to open into the living room. The decor matches the rest of the apartment, with white cabinetry arranged in a corner. Mirrored functional units housing built-in appliances were added near the entrance.
The kitchen work area is unconventional, consisting of three lower cabinets. Since the owners cook sparingly, they installed a small sink and a two-burner stove. Opposite the kitchen, there’s a dining area with designer chairs and a glass table. A glass partition was added near the dining space to create openness.
Thanks to the renovation, the living room became spacious and airy. It now includes a hidden office and storage concealed behind mirrored closet doors. A synthesizer sits against one wall, reflecting the owner’s love of music. The room also features a white sofa, armchair, and coffee table.
The bedroom is separated from the living room by a glass partition and curtains. It centers around a double wooden bed, with a large mirrored storage system positioned opposite it.
In the bathroom, they chose a freestanding sink made of natural granite and incorporated a comprehensive storage system. Mirror panels on the right wall visually expanded the space, enhancing its sense of openness.
