For 27 years, the girl filmed the moment of farewell to her parents. The emotional archive brought the public to tears

For 27 years, the woman photographed her parents as they said goodbye to her. “I never set out to create this series of photographs,” she reflects.

“At first, I just took these pictures to cope with the sadness I felt every time I had to leave. It was my way of keeping something tangible, something that would remind me that even though we were apart, they were always there, wishing me well as I moved through life.”

But over time, this simple act evolved into something more meaningful. What began as a small ritual became a tradition, a living archive of the farewells they shared over the years. Each photo became more than just an image — it captured the complex emotions of separation, the unspoken bond between parent and child, and the passage of time.

The tradition continued throughout the changes in their lives—different homes, stages of life, and milestones—but the ritual of farewell remained constant, a constant that marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
