Man Deported from Dubai Vacation Due to Facial Tattoo

A British man’s dream vacation to Dubai quickly turned into a nightmare after he was denied entry to the country—allegedly because of a tattoo on his face.

Jordan Howman, 34, flew to Dubai with his fiancée Teresa and her daughter Cake for what was meant to be a relaxing week-long getaway. However, upon landing at the airport, Jordan was stopped by customs officials. After being detained for six hours, he was told he could not enter the UAE.

According to Jordan, the reason cited for his deportation was a tattoo on his face—something he claims is not prohibited under UAE law.

“It absolutely shattered me. I felt brutally judged and discriminated against,” he said. “My fiancée was in tears. There’s no law that says facial tattoos are banned.”

The incident left Jordan deeply disillusioned with a country he once considered a favorite destination.

“I’ll never set foot in Dubai again. I lost all the money I spent on this trip just because of how I look,” he said. He also revealed that his passport was confiscated and only returned once he landed back home in Manchester.

Despite the ordeal, Jordan stated he does not plan to pursue legal action against the airline or the UAE authorities.

Reporters attempted to reach out to Dubai Airport and the UAE Department of Tourism for a statement, but as of publication, no official response has been provided.
