I am a police officer, on duty, this is a daily routine that I know well. As always, my dog Max, a German shepherd with an unerring sense of smell, accompanied me on patrol. He was loyal, calm, ready to act at the slightest sign of danger. This day at 4:00 pm seemed ordinary, as always.
But suddenly, for no apparent reason, Max began to behave strangely. First, he suddenly stopped, his ears perked up, and he began to carefully examine his surroundings with unusual intensity.
Then he started to spin around, sniffing the air as if he was looking for something. His eyes sparkled with a special light. I followed him, intrigued by his behavior. Max, usually so calm, Seemed to sense something.
I saw him approach a woman with a stroller. She walked slowly, unaware of what was happening. Max didn’t hesitate for a second and headed straight for her, persistently sniffing the air. Then he began to howl, louder and louder.
It wasn’t a normal bark, but a scream, as if he was trying to warn about something. The woman, shocked by his reaction, stopped and looked at me with concern.
I walked up to the stroller, trying to figure out what was bothering my dog so much. As I approached, Max continued to bark, prompting me to check what was going on. I leaned down and carefully opened the stroller cover, expecting to see a sleeping baby or the usual scene.
But there was no baby, not even a toddler, in the stroller. What I found shocked me to the bone.

Upon opening it, I found items that instantly made me realize that the situation was much more serious than I thought.
Inside were dangerous objects, prohibited substances and documents the possession of which was illegal.
I quickly took control of the situation and immediately called my colleagues to secure the scene.
