Grey’s Anatomy Actor Brad Everett Young Dies in Los Angeles Car Crash at 46

Brad Everett Young, known for roles in hit series including Grey’s Anatomy, Felicity, and Beverly Hills, 90210, as well as the Oscar-winning film The Artist, tragically died on Monday in a car accident in Los Angeles, his publicist confirmed. He was 46.

“Brad’s passion for the arts and the people behind them was unmatched. He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will carry on through Dream Loud Official,” said publicist Paul Christensen, requesting prayers and privacy for Young’s family.

The fatal crash occurred after Young left a late-night movie. Driving alone, his vehicle was hit head-on by another car traveling the wrong way on the 134 Freeway. Young died instantly, while the other driver survived and was hospitalized, according to Christensen.

Beginning in 1999, Young appeared in Boy Meets World, Numb3rs, and Popular, and played a patient in the 2008 Grey’s Anatomy episode “In the Midnight Hour.” His film credits include Charlie’s Angels, Love & Basketball, Men of Honor, I Love You, Man, and The Artist, which won Best Picture at the 2012 Academy Awards.

Beyond acting, Young founded Dream Loud Official, a nonprofit supporting arts and music programs in schools. Later, he gained recognition as a celebrity photographer, capturing stars like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seth Green, Emma Caulfield Ford, David Harbour, and Gilles Marini, with his work featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and PEOPLE.

Friends and colleagues expressed shock at his passing. General Hospital star Chris McKenna shared, “We just did a shoot a couple weeks ago and texted this weekend. Brad was such a talented, funny, warm, caring guy… he gave his time, his art, raised money for schools. The world is darker without his light. Rest easy, bud.”
