They Offered a Homeless Woman a Makeover — and Her Transformation Will Melt Your Heart

Homelessness is more than lacking a roof—it’s often about feeling invisible, like you don’t matter. In Glendale, a group called Prank It FWD decided to change that, if only for a day.

At the Ascencia Homeless Shelter, guests thought they were simply being treated to snacks and a meal. What they didn’t know was that a full day of pampering awaited: spa treatments, beauty care, delicious food, and more.

For Guadalupe, a woman who had endured years of hardship, the surprise was life-changing. She hadn’t been able to cut her hair in years, and when she finally saw herself after the makeover, the transformation was stunning. Both she and her husband were deeply moved. “It shows that someone cares,” she said.

The event didn’t just end with makeovers. For every thousand views of the video, the charity pledged a donation to DoSomething.org, helping the fight against homelessness go even further.

It was more than a makeover—it was a reminder that being seen, valued, and cared for can mean everything.
