J.C., a talented hairdresser living on the streets of San Francisco with his little dog, Lucky, has been using his skills to help fellow homeless people for 18 years. Despite his own challenges, he believes that looking good can help people feel better and regain confidence.
“I don’t want handouts or government assistance,” he says. “I eat every day, I stay clean, and I feel alive. If you can’t help yourself, how can you help the world?”
