The wedding evening was drawing to a close. The music faded, and the guests slowly settled into the luxurious living room, clinking glasses and reminiscing about the funniest moments of the celebration. The newlyweds, tired after a long day, ascended to the second floor of the mansion, where a bedroom decorated with rose petals awaited them.
“May you have many healthy grandchildren,” said one of the guests, raising a glass to the groom’s father. Everyone laughed and joined in the toast. It seemed the celebration would last until the morning.
But just at that moment a piercing scream was heard from above – such that a chill ran down everyone’s spine.
The guests rushed upstairs in panic. The stairs creaked, footsteps rushed—and they were at the bedroom door. When the door swung open, they were in for a real shock.
The groom stood in the middle of the room, his shirt unbuttoned. His face was deathly pale, his eyes wide with terror. And the bride… 😱😱

And next to him, on the bed, lay the bride. Her body trembled convulsively, her hands shook uncontrollably, her eyes were half-closed, and her lips were whispering incoherent sounds.
“Oh my God… what’s wrong with her?!” one of the women screamed.
“A doctor! A doctor quickly!” one of the men shouted.
The groom rushed to his wife, not understanding what was happening. He held her hands, repeating her name, but it was clear he had never seen her in such a state before. His face was frozen in horror and helplessness.
After a few minutes that seemed like an eternity, the convulsions subsided. The bride opened her eyes and, breathing heavily, tried to rise. The room was deathly silent, broken only by her ragged breathing.
“I’m sorry…” she breathed out in a trembling voice. “I… I should have told you earlier… I have epilepsy.”

Tears welled up in her eyes. She told him that the illness had haunted her for years, but she was afraid to admit it. She felt the truth would ruin her happiness, that her fiancé and his family would turn their backs on her.
So she hid her attacks and hoped that everything would be fine on the wedding day.
The groom listened with his head bowed. It was clear from his face that he didn’t know a single word about it. But instead of anger or reproach, he hugged her and said:
“I should have been there and known. Now I won’t leave you alone for a minute.”
The guests exchanged glances in silence. The merryment that had reigned below now seemed alien and unnecessary. But everyone understood: this night would be a test that would forever change their understanding of their new family.
