Melania Trump Reveals Details About Donald Trump’s Unusual Nighttime Routine

Considering Donald Trump’s status as one of the world’s most recognizable figures, it’s no surprise that much of his life has been analyzed in extreme detail. Yet, as Melania Trump recently revealed, there are still a few things about the former president that remain largely unknown—such as his rather unusual bedtime habits.

In her 2024 memoir Melania: A Memoir, and during a subsequent interview on Fox News’ The Five, the former First Lady offered a rare glimpse into her husband’s nightly routine. Trump has often boasted that during his presidency he slept just four to five hours a night—an astonishingly small amount for anyone, but perhaps expected for someone running one of the most demanding jobs in the world.

“He doesn’t sleep much,” Melania said, adding with a smile, “He does, of course,” clarifying that he does rest—just not for long.

However, the most attention-grabbing moment came when Fox host Greg Gutfeld jokingly asked if Trump wore pajamas to bed. Melania immediately answered, “No.” When pressed on what he does wear, she simply smiled and mimed zipping her lips—leaving the audience laughing and guessing.

Trump’s odd sleeping habits have also been discussed by journalists who’ve traveled with him. CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins recently shared on the Trading Secrets podcast that insiders dread long flights with the former president.

“He doesn’t sleep on these trips,” Collins revealed. “Even on overnight flights to Asia, he stays awake, talking nonstop. Sometimes he even asks staff members to wake others up so he can talk to them.”

Between Melania’s playful hints and staff accounts of his sleepless energy, Donald Trump’s nighttime routine seems just as unconventional as the man himself.
