Moore tells PEOPLE that the moment happened shortly after lunch while they were playing in the living room. “She was wandering around being really cute, so I thought I’d grab a fun video to send to her dad,” Moore explains. “I realized something wasn’t right after we were playing,” Moore recalls. “I looked at her back and saw literal poop all over her pants and back! Then I looked at myself and thought, ‘Oh my God, how did I not smell this?’”
As a first-time mom, Moore says this was a new experience—but she treats it as a humorous “rite of passage.” “Right after the video cut off, I was jokingly contemplating throwing the whole baby away,” she says. “Then I came to my senses, held her at arm’s length, ran upstairs, tossed her outfit, and got both of us into the shower immediately.”
Looking back, Moore found the humor in the chaos. “I sent the video to my husband, saying, ‘Why do bad things happen to good people?’” she laughs.
