Rising to fame as a child actress, this star recently opened up about her ongoing struggle with a serious illness… can you guess who she is?
The young girl who once graced family photos on Instagram grew up to become a household name in film and television. She first captured audiences’ attention in the late 1980s when she became a standout on a hit sitcom, quickly becoming a familiar face on screens across America.

Throughout the 1990s, she maintained a steady presence on television while also appearing in popular films, building a career that extended into the 2000s and 2010s with multiple hit comedies and beloved roles.
In recent years, however, the actress has stepped back from Hollywood as she manages a challenging, chronic illness. Despite this, she continues to inspire her fans by sharing her journey, raising awareness, and advocating for others facing similar struggles.
Can you guess who she is?
The star is Christina Applegate, famed for Married… With Children and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

In a nostalgic Instagram post, Applegate shared a childhood photo of herself in a green dance outfit with gold sequined stripes, reflecting on the lasting impact dance has had on her life. She revealed, “Dance became the thing that saved me, and has saved me ever since… Not being able to dance as I once did now that I have MS is one of the hardest things about the disease. It’s impossible to overstate how important dance is to me.”
The 54-year-old actress, born in 1971, also teased her upcoming memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, set to release on March 3, signing her post with the title’s reference.

Applegate publicly announced in 2021 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). Since then, she has shared her experiences on social media, balancing openness about her condition with time away from acting to focus on her health.

Best known for playing Kelly Bundy, the ditsy but lovable daughter on Fox’s Married… With Children from 1987 to 1997, Applegate helped shape the early identity of the network. Though the show received mixed reviews at the time, it is now regarded as a classic sitcom. She later led NBC’s Jesse (1998–2000) and starred in Samantha Who? (2007–2009). More recently, she captivated audiences alongside Linda Cardellini in Netflix’s darkly comedic series Dead To Me (2019–2022).

Applegate also made her mark in film, appearing in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Hall Pass (2011), Vacation (2015), and Bad Moms (2016). However, after her MS diagnosis, her acting career has largely been on pause, though she did complete the final season of Dead To Me.

Coinciding with her throwback post, Applegate announced the launch of Next in MS, an online platform she co-created with TG Therapeutics. The site is designed for people living with MS to share their experiences, ask questions, and support one another.

“Living with multiple sclerosis isn’t easy — I’ve been open about that for a long time,” Applegate said in a video introducing the platform. “The hard days, the frustration, the moments where things don’t always make sense. But I’m at a point where I want to talk about something else too. I want to talk about what comes next.”

She added, “Next in MS is a place to share what I’m thinking, the questions I’m asking, the people I’m talking to, and what I learn along the way. I don’t have all the answers, but I do believe in being informed, staying curious, and moving forward together.”
Through her courage, transparency, and advocacy, Christina Applegate continues to inspire fans while navigating life with MS.
