Joy Behar revealed she has lost 25 pounds using a GLP-1 weight loss medication during Wednesday’s episode of The View.
The 83-year-old co-host, who first joined the show in 1997, opened up about her experience after guest host Savannah Chrisley brought up the stigma around medications like Ozempic.

“People are made to feel so much shame around doing it, and it isn’t like that. Many use it for health reasons. I personally did it because I was pre-diabetic,” Behar explained.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, sharing her own journey: “I did it because I was almost 300 pounds, and I’m looking good now.”

Behar added, “I lost 25,” before telling the live audience, “We all did it!”
While she did not specify which GLP-1 drug she used or when she started, other celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Meghan Trainor have publicly shared their experiences with similar medications.
Behar previously defended Kelly Clarkson in 2024 when the singer faced criticism for losing weight via GLP-1 treatments, stating, “Diets do not work. I’ve been on diets up and down. You lose it, then you gain it back. Nobody wants to be fat except a sumo wrestler. It’s uncomfortable, your clothes don’t fit, everybody wants to lose weight.”

Chrisley also shared during the episode that she dropped 40 pounds using a GLP-1 medication. On her Unlocked podcast last November, she revealed she planned to shed nearly 30 pounds, noting her ideal weight is around 135 pounds. She preferred tirzepatide for its minimal side effects compared to other drugs, saying it allowed her to track improvements in her bloodwork and biological age.
Goldberg previously shared in 2024 that she used Mounjaro to lose weight after seeing her reflection one day and realizing she was heavier than she wanted to be.

Behar also spoke recently to People about maintaining her youthful appearance, confirming she has not had a facelift but does get Botox and fillers. She credited her smooth skin to genetics and shared she uses Restylane to enhance her cheekbones, joking, “Anybody can have high cheekbones. It’s not really bones—it’s fat, collagen, or whatever they put in there.”
Behar originally joined The View in 1997, was let go in 2013, and returned as a main co-host in 2015. She reflected on her 2013 exit, saying, “I was glad to be fired. I was basically sick of the show at that point for some reason, I don’t even remember why.”
