The 35-year-old actor recently whisked his wife away on a romantic getaway to Rome, Italy to celebrate her birthday together.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson shared a glimpse of their trip on social media, posting several photos from the Italian capital. In the images, he and his wife, filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson, can be seen posing together while exploring the city’s historic streets and famous museums. The actor also included snapshots of paintings and sculptures they admired during their cultural outings.
Alongside the photos, Aaron wrote a short but affectionate message dedicated to his wife: “You and I… in Rome. Happy birthday, baby.”
Sam also posted her own set of images from the trip, offering fans another look at their romantic vacation. One playful photo showed Aaron mid-jump while posing for the camera, capturing a lighthearted moment during their sightseeing adventure.
The couple, who have been together for more than a decade, share two daughters: 15-year-old Wilda and 14-year-old Romy. Sam is also the mother of two older daughters—Angelica and Jessie—from her previous marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.
Aaron and Sam’s relationship began in 2009 when he starred as a young John Lennon in her directorial debut, Nowhere Boy, a biographical drama exploring the legendary musician’s early life and rise to fame. At the time, Aaron was 18 and Sam was 41, and their romance quickly became widely discussed in the media.
Just months after meeting on set, the couple announced their engagement. They later married in 2012 and chose to combine their surnames, becoming the Taylor-Johnsons. In June 2022, they celebrated a decade of marriage by renewing their wedding vows during a special ceremony marking their 10th anniversary.
Aaron, who recently appeared in the post-apocalyptic film 28 Years Later, has made a tradition of publicly celebrating his wife’s birthday each year with heartfelt posts. Last year, he also shared photos from their travels together and accompanied them with a loving message that read: “Happy birthday, beauty! I love spending every minute with you.”
Their latest Italian getaway appears to be another chapter in that tradition, with the couple enjoying art, history and each other’s company while marking Sam’s special day in one of Europe’s most romantic cities.
