Tom Hardy’s wife reveals how he won her heart

The couple have been married for 12 years.

Charlotte Riley revealed how Tom Hardy won her heart with a “good cup of tea.” Having fallen in love on the set of the 2009 television adaptation of Wuthering Heights, the actors became one of the strongest couples in show business. Between rehearsals, 44-year-old Charlotte gave a new interview in which she recalled how she and Tom fell in love.

“He made me some really good tea. Strong. “There’s no point in drinking tea if the spoon in the cup isn’t vertical from the strength,” the actress recalled of her first impressions of Tom. “And he told me his mother was from the north. Then I knew I was in for a fun time.”

Charlotte also noted Tom’s relaxed nature while working on set.

He was just being himself, playful and fun-loving, Riley recalled.

The actress said that she made her future husband laugh with her daring jokes.

We were talking about this the other day. There’s this famous line: ‘Whatever our souls are made of, yours and mine are the same,'” she told The Sunday Times Style Magazine. “We filmed a take in a tiny church on the moor, and it was beautiful. We were sitting in a pew, and I had to turn to Tom and say my line, and he just died laughing. Because when you say it in a northern accent, it sounds like: ‘Whatever our arses are made of…’ And that was it, we couldn’t work anymore for the rest of the day. I need to get a tattoo of that line.”

The couple married in 2014 and have two children: a 10-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter. The actor also has a 17-year-old son, Louis, from his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Rachel Speed.
