Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron took a rare break from her busy Hollywood schedule over the weekend, enjoying some quality time with her daughters, Jackson and August, on a white sand beach in Hawaii. The 50-year-old was spotted playing in the ocean wearing a bright canary-yellow bikini with a strapless gathered top and hip-hugging bottoms, accessorized with chic brown sunglasses and a gold bangle. After her swim, she covered up in a black minidress while lounging with her girls.
Theron stays in remarkable shape through a mix of Pilates, power yoga, spin classes, and outdoor sports like tennis, working out 3–4 times a week. She emphasizes finding fitness activities you enjoy so it never feels like a chore. For her action roles, she also trains in martial arts, noting that staying in shape has become more challenging in her 40s.
The South African-born actress adopted her daughters Jackson in 2012, now around 14, and August in 2015, about 11. As a single mom, Theron frequently shares glimpses of her family life on social media and has spoken openly about the ups and downs of raising two young kids. In June 2025, she told People that parenting teenagers can be a “real struggle,” adding, “It’s a house full of women. And we have great moments, and we also have real struggles.”
Theron wants her daughters to be aware of the world beyond their immediate surroundings and to stay connected to her South African roots. Speaking at the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project 2025 Block Party, she said her kids are “incredibly empathetic” and mindful of social issues both in Los Angeles and in South Africa.
Despite her Hollywood fame, her children are unimpressed with her career. On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Theron joked that her kids have “zero respect” for her achievements, citing a recent moment when one of them admired Tom Cruise more than her for his action stunts, despite her own impressive work in The Old Guard 2.
Theron has also dipped her toes into dating apps. In 2025, she revealed she tried Raya but found the experience frustrating, going on only two dates and being unimpressed by the profiles she encountered.
