The actor, best known for playing the strict yet caring teacher George Feeny on Boy Meets World from 1993 to 2000, posted a video on Instagram thanking supporters for helping him feel “fulfilled” in his later years. Daniels, who also portrayed Dr. Mark Craig on the 1980s drama St. Elsewhere, acknowledged that while he looks different decades after his most famous roles, he still values staying connected with his audience.
In the clip, Daniels — who hasn’t acted since 2020 — explained that he continues interacting with fans through Cameo and public appearances. He expressed gratitude for their support, saying they help keep him feeling young, before ending with his iconic line from the show: “Class dismissed.”
In the caption, he added that he is stepping back from long-distance travel, meaning he likely won’t attend events anymore, but fans can still request personalized video messages through Cameo, where he charges $195 per clip. He also reflected on turning 99, writing that staying in touch with supporters has brought him great joy in his later years.

Fans quickly filled the comments with affectionate messages, calling him “Mr. Feeny” and thanking him for the memories. Some even shared that his character inspired them to become teachers, praising the warmth and wisdom he brought to the role. Others simply expressed love and admiration, calling him one of the greatest and urging others to “protect Feeny at all costs.”

Before his television fame, Daniels built a strong Broadway career, appearing in productions such as Life with Father, 1776, A Thousand Clowns, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, and A Little Night Music. His screen credits also include The Graduate, the sitcom Captain Nice, The Nancy Walker Show, Freebie and the Bean, and Knight Rider, where he voiced the AI car KITT.

He later reprised his beloved Mr. Feeny role in the spinoff Girl Meets World in 2014 and even made a surprise appearance on Dancing With the Stars last year at age 98.

In his personal life, Daniels has been married to actress Bonnie Bartlett — who also appeared on Boy Meets World and St. Elsewhere — since June 30, 1951, making them one of Hollywood’s longest-lasting couples. The pair experienced tragedy early in their marriage when their newborn son died shortly after birth, but they later adopted two sons and built a life together that has spanned more than seven decades.
