Cardi B Says She Was “Reborn” After Offset Divorce

Cardi B says her 2024 split from Offset marked a turning point, pushing her toward major personal and professional growth. The rapper revealed that the breakup triggered a wave of change in her life and helped her move forward.

The “Money Bag” hitmaker explained that ending her relationship with Offset—whom she filed to divorce after seven years of marriage, though it has yet to be finalized—led to a powerful transformation.

“I feel like last year a new person was reborn,” she shared on the March 31 episode of the Aspire With Emma Grede podcast. “I don’t know if it was the divorce. I don’t know if something woke me up. I feel like I’m definitely a new person.”

Following the shift, the Grow-Good Beauty founder—who shares children Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 18 months, with the Migos rapper, as well as a four-month-old baby boy with Stefon Diggs—said she felt more driven than ever to focus on her career and expand her business ambitions. She noted that many celebrities build lasting brands years into their fame, adding that she believes now is the ideal moment for her to do the same.

“I’m 33 years old,” Cardi added. “I’m in my Jesus year. I’m in my Orisha year. This is the year. It’s like God is telling me, ‘It’s gonna be now or never—take advantage of it.’”

Last year, the Grammy winner—who previously filed for divorce in September 2020 before later withdrawing the request—also spoke about tensions in her relationship with Offset and her hope for a healthier co-parenting dynamic.

“We should be able to raise kids,” she told Gayle King on CBS Mornings in September. “We should be able to ask each other questions… We should be able to celebrate. But it’s not about the kids.”

She concluded by saying she wished he would become a better person, especially for their children, while acknowledging the situation is ultimately out of her control.
