Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, 73, looks frail as he leans on wife in first public sighting after surgeries

David Hasselhoff appeared noticeably frail during his first public outing in months, leaning on his wife, Hayley Roberts, as the couple enjoyed a nature hike in Calabasas, California. The 73-year-old Baywatch star used two trekking poles to navigate the uneven terrain, while Roberts stayed close by, occasionally holding his arm to help steady him.

Despite his delicate appearance, the actor is reportedly on the mend following recent knee and hip replacement surgeries. A representative confirmed he underwent the procedures after previously being seen in a wheelchair at Los Angeles International Airport. According to the spokesperson, Hasselhoff is now recovering and gradually regaining mobility.

During the walk, Roberts continued to assist him, at one point placing her hands on his sides as he moved through tall grass. Hasselhoff dressed casually in a light-gray T-shirt, dark sweatpants, and a black cap, while his wife opted for black leggings, a white cropped T-shirt, and a teal baseball cap. Though his hair has turned mostly gray, the actor still appeared slim and in relatively good shape.

The outing comes as a reboot of Baywatch is reportedly being developed by a new generation of actors and influencers, reviving the show that made Hasselhoff a global star. While he appeared more mobile than in previous sightings, he still relied on support and walking aids during the hike.

Last July, Hasselhoff hinted he was planning knee surgery after being spotted limping through LAX before a trip to Cancun. At the time, he was also pushed in a wheelchair by airport staff. A source then claimed the actor had been dealing with health struggles following years of hard living, including a well-documented battle with alcohol abuse.

His appearance also comes just over a year after the tragic death of his second wife and former Baywatch co-star Pamela Bach, who died in March 2025 at age 62. Hasselhoff shared two daughters with Bach — Taylor and Hayley — and the family asked for privacy while grieving. The actor later found love with Roberts, whom he began dating in 2011 before marrying in Italy in 2018.
