Euphoria star Barbie Ferreira showed off her striking figure in a bold new photoshoot for Bustle, following her reported 50-pound weight loss.
The actress, who played Kat Hernandez for two seasons of the hit drama before departing in 2022, shared several images from the shoot on Instagram. In one snap, Ferreira wore a black bra with an open blue shirt, black capri pants, and a chunky silver choker. Another featured her posing on a couch in the same outfit with pointed black heels, while a third look included a pink satin bra paired with a cherry-red leather jacket.

Fans quickly filled the comments with praise. Kat Dennings wrote, “We weren’t ready!!!!!” while Noah Cyrus commented, “Fav song.” Others called the photos stunning and said she left everyone speechless.

Ferreira also opened up about the attention surrounding her changing appearance, revealing that her weight has fluctuated over the years. She explained that although many labeled her a body positivity advocate, she never intentionally took on that role.
The actress said public conversations about women’s bodies can feel impossible to win, noting that women are often criticized no matter their size. She added that gaining and losing weight has simply been part of her life, but she didn’t expect so much public fixation on it.
Ferreira also addressed comparisons to her younger self from her Tumblr days, pointing out she was only 14 at the time. She said it was natural that she looks different now and recalled being asked about activism while she was still just a teenager.
Now, Ferreira appears focused on embracing her own path, shutting out outside noise while continuing to evolve both personally and professionally.

Ferreira reflected on how she was unexpectedly labeled an activist at a young age, saying she barely understood the meaning of the word at the time. She recalled posing in a bikini for a campaign, facing backlash, and suddenly being described that way while she was still a teenager.
She explained that true activism, in her view, means devoting your life to a cause. What she has always believed in, she said, is that people deserve to see themselves represented honestly in media — something she feels her career continues to support.

The brunette star also spoke candidly about the unhealthy mindset that can come with weight loss, especially when compliments start pouring in. She said praise for a slimmer figure can become a trap, encouraging damaging eating habits because people begin chasing approval.
Ferreira pointed out that people rarely offer the same praise when someone gains weight, adding that many people would look just as good — if not better — with added weight.

She admitted that comments about her body have followed her constantly, whether she is playing a character or simply being herself, saying the focus often shifts back to her appearance no matter what she does.
Ferreira also revealed that one reason she chose to leave Euphoria after its second season was her desire to move beyond being cast as the “fat best friend,” referencing her role as Kat Hernandez. She said she wanted the chance to explore different kinds of characters and expand her career on her own terms.
