Pierce Brosnan looks worlds away from Bond role in unrecognizable new appearance

Pierce Brosnan looks almost unrecognizable in his latest role, leaving behind his polished James Bond image for a dramatic transformation in the upcoming boxing biopic Giant.

The 72-year-old actor takes on the role of famed boxing trainer Brendan Ingle in the film, which tells the story of British-Yemeni champion “Prince” Naseem Hamed. A newly released trailer showcases Brosnan with a bald cap, thinning white hair, glasses, and a prosthetic nose — a far cry from the suave appearance that defined his years as 007.

Executive produced by Sylvester Stallone, Giant follows Hamed’s rise from humble beginnings in Sheffield to becoming one of boxing’s most electrifying world champions. The film also explores the close bond between Hamed and Ingle, whose mentorship played a key role in shaping the fighter’s career.

Known for his flashy personality, unconventional style, and knockout power, Hamed became a global sports star during the 1990s while also confronting racism and Islamophobia in Britain. His professional record included 36 wins and just one loss, with 31 victories by knockout.

Brendan Ingle, who died in 2018 at age 77, was a respected trainer who also guided champions Johnny Nelson, Junior Witter, and Kell Brook. He was honored with an MBE for his contributions to boxing and youth mentorship in Sheffield.

The movie also stars Amir El-Masry as Hamed, alongside Katherine Dow Blyton, Ali Saleh, Ghaith Saleh, and Toby Stephens.

Brosnan’s makeover was so convincing that some cast members reportedly struggled to recognize him when filming began. His striking transformation is already generating buzz ahead of the film’s release, proving the former Bond star is still full of surprises.

With his dramatic transformation and a role far removed from his iconic Bond persona, Brosnan appears ready to showcase yet another side of his acting range. As anticipation builds for Giant, fans are eager to see how he brings the respected trainer to life in what could become one of his most memorable later-career performances.
