😲A month ago, my friend found an old, nearly destroyed dresser at a dump and decided to breathe new life into it and transform it for her country house šŸ˜

My friend started by stripping off the old finish from the dresser using dish soap and a metal sponge.

The wood, though not particularly valuable, required careful attention. She thoroughly degreased the surface and sanded away any old imperfections.

Next came the painting process: for the interior, she used leftover paint from an old shoe rack project, while the exterior was coated in a ā€œMoss Greenā€ shade that gave the piece a fresh and natural look. Although the paint was acrylic enamel, its texture resembled thicker alkyd paint and applied perfectly in two smooth layers. To hide joints and imperfections, she used wooden molding and filler.

Since the dresser was missing its drawers, she got creative and added doors made from reclaimed wood trim. The wood, which she had purchased during the summer, had slightly warped as it dried, adding a charmingly rustic touch to the design.

For a unique and eye-catching detail, she attached a metal mesh to the door fronts and painted it a rich golden hue. The finishing touch came in the form of vintage brass handles and hinges, which gave the dresser a sophisticated and polished look.

The DIY transformation turned the dresser into a true masterpiece, perfectly complementing the cozy atmosphere of her home.

What do you think of the result? This project definitely deserves praise—my friend’s hands truly work magic!
