This Family Lives in an Unusual Arctic Home to Withstand Extreme Weather Conditions 🤔😱 With a 25-foot dome surrounding the home, they are protected from snowfalls and strong winds 🥰 Thanks to the unique design, they can grow tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, pumpkins and more without sunlight 😍 Check out what this amazing home looks like from the inside ⬇️⬇️⬇️

The Hjertefølger family lives above the Arctic Circle, more precisely on the island of Sandhornøya in Norway, in a house with a geodesic dome.

Their home was built to withstand the extreme Arctic weather conditions, making it a sustainable place to live.

Their three-story home—built from sand, water, clay and other organic materials—is enclosed in an aesthetically pleasing and functional solar geodesic dome.

With a 25-foot dome surrounding the home, the Hjertefölgers are protected from snowfalls and strong winds. The dome also helps reduce heating costs.

Because the dome is large enough to cover the garden, the space inside produces more greenhouse gases, allowing food to be grown without sunlight.

Some of the plants they grow include tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, melons, pumpkins and more.

“This process has changed us… The atmosphere here is unique. There is a sense of peace in the house; I can almost hear the silence.”

The Hjertefölger family, with this sustainable and efficient innovation, has proven to us that the concept of living does not have to be in a standard house in a typical suburb.

Thanks to this technology, people can live away from the norm, leading a quiet life away from the hustle and bustle. If you had the chance to live in a house with a geodesic dome, would you take it?
