Wedding traditions vary slightly in different countries, but the essence remains the same. A wedding is one of the most important events in life for most of us.
We are preparing for it, anticipating joyful excitement, hoping that everything will go brilliantly or, at the very least, “no worse than what people have.”
Many people plan their wedding ceremony in detail, hire experienced hosts who hold the reins of the celebration in their tenacious professional hands. But it is never possible to predict or foresee absolutely everything.
At such celebrations, there are both pleasant surprises and major disappointments: what young people who are addicted to computer games call an fail epic – a grand failure, a spectacular failure.
But in this story of a seemingly ordinary Portuguese wedding, everything went wrong from the very beginning. Jefferson and Jessica, as usual, went to the altar to swear their love and fidelity before the Almighty.
And suddenly, at the most tense moment, at the culmination of the wedding, the groom suddenly announced that, besides the bride, he had another person whom he loved just as infinitely.
The guests froze. Everyone had heard of unfortunate brides, whom heartless grooms abandoned at the last moment, right at the altar or in the midst of the wedding feast. Similar suspicions and versions swarmed in the guests’ heads. But Jefferson quickly dispelled them, not allowing the witnesses of their entry into a new phase of life to focus on negative thoughts.
The groom turned around and called the girl who was standing behind the newlyweds. It turned out to be the eight-year-old daughter of his chosen one, Giovanna. The girl grew up without a father, waiting for a long time for her mother to find a real life partner. And she, it seems, was in no hurry to get married precisely because she was looking not only for a worthy husband, but also a loving father for her daughter.
The future father, looking into the eyes of his newly found daughter, sincerely uttered his vow: “I will love you, I will take care of you, I will protect you and I will not allow anything bad to happen to you.”
Giovanna listened to this touching address with tears in her eyes, and then took the microphone and said her words of gratitude in response. Such moments will never be forgotten. They will remember them together, re-watching this video in the most important moments of their lives.
