Katelyn just needed to score a 9.6 or higher to win the competition, and the first step of her performance excites both the crowd and her teammates.
Watching gymnasts perform can be one of the most enchanting and exciting experiences. We watch as these artists, who have prepared for years, put everything on the line in the hopes of getting a perfect ten. Watch the video below.

Morning and night, they train to perfect their trade through unending blood, sweat, and tears, all for a moment that lasts less than ten minutes. They have all eyes on them at this exact time, and one mistake might make or break their entire routine. One error can make years of training appear meaningless. However, these gymnasts realize the repercussions and what is at stake.
It’s about taking the chance that all those years of preparation were worthwhile and they hit every action flawlessly, resulting in a perfect 10. One gymnast, Katelyn Michelle Ohashi, has almost perfected this.
Katelyn was born in Seattle, Washington, and began training in gymnastics at the age of three. She was only 12 years old when she made her floor exercise debut in 2009 at the Junior Olympic National Championships, where she won first place.

This was just the beginning of her championship wins. She grew up to become an American artistic gymnast who competed for the University of California. One of her most well-known performances, which has since gone viral, was a floor dance to a medley of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and “The Way You Make Me Feel”.
This performance was intense for Katelyn, her team, and everyone in the audience since the announcers informed her that because she had previously received numerous flawless scores of 10, she just needed to obtain a score of 9.6 or higher to win.
As the cameras shift perspectives, we get a look of her fellow gymnasts and witness her colleagues following every move of her dance routine. Standing on the sidelines, excited and nervous, waiting for Katelyn to obtain a 9.6 or higher score.
She makes sure to demonstrate her immaculate form to the judges by flipping into a standing posture on her tiptoes, pointing out to the audience.
As she walks across the floor, we can see her teammates behind her following her every step with smiles that grow larger by the second as Katelyn nails every move of her routine.
Katelyn pauses to look at the floor before making her final falling pass. She takes a few breaths, refocuses, and then takes off for her final tumbling pass.
