My grandfather made a garden stove out of a rusty old barrel: the result was amazing

My grandfather decided to make a garden stove out of a rusty, leaky barrel 😱 He used an ax to knock out a square hole in the bottom of the barrel to allow air in and put a grate inside 😲 Then he found three bricks and placed the barrel on them 😲 And this is what he got 😱 I’m showing the result at the link in the comments 👇👇

When an old rusty barrel piled up in the backyard, it seemed like its fate was sealed – straight to the dump. However, an idea came to mind: why not make a simple stove out of it for the summer garden?

There was little work involved: a square hole was knocked out in the bottom of the barrel with an ax to allow air to enter. To prevent coals and ashes from falling out, a grate was placed inside.

Then they found three bricks and installed the barrel on them, providing traction. It would seem that everything is ready – an improvised stove for burning garden waste is ready!

The work began on the very first evening: leaves, dry branches, unnecessary newspapers – everything was sent to the fire. The flames danced inside the barrel, creating a cozy glow, and friends and family gathered around, warming themselves by the improvised fire.

But then a new idea came to mind – what if we cook something on this fire? An old cast iron grate was found and placed on the edge of the barrel.

The pieces of meat sizzled on it, spreading an appetizing aroma. Browned and absorbing a light smoky flavor, the meat turned out excellent – as if it had been cooked on an expensive grill.

A barrel that could have become trash has become the center of summer evenings, uniting people around its flaming heart. And even if it won’t last long, it’s just a reason to show ingenuity again and find a new use for old things.
