Anna was rushing to interviews. This wasn’t just a job, it was her dream job, a chance to change her life, to get out of the endless part-time jobs.
She had almost reached the intersection when she heard a scream and the noise of cars. On the other side of the street, an elderly man suddenly swayed, grabbed his chest and slowly collapsed onto the asphalt. Anna stopped. Her brain screamed, “You’re late! Run!” But she darted across the street and landed next to the man.
