A 24-year-old woman recently traveled a significant distance to have double jaw surgery. People online have been taken aback by the dramatic procedure and its shocking results.
Alesia Konovalenko had three cleft palate surgeries as a youngster, including one to treat complications from the second. These early medical issues influenced the development of her facial bones and bite alignment.
Years later, persistent ear pain prompted the singer to have double jaw surgery in March 2025, resulting in a profound physical and emotional transformation. “My initial desire was to have a beautiful smile because I’ve had overbite issues and my teeth were just acting out during my whole life,” the young woman, 24, explains.
Konovalenko originally received braces at the age of 12 and wore them until she was sixteen. “My teeth, they looked straight, but my overbite was still pretty big,” she tells me. “So that basically was just like a cover-up.”
Konovalenko developed regular, unexplained earaches two years ago. A gnathologist advised her that the second round of braces could exacerbate her issues. Further tests proved that her ear ache was caused by her overbite, and surgery was the only successful treatment.
Konovalenko’s first week of rehabilitation was hard. For the first five days, she ate using a syringe before moving to a smaller spoon. She was startled when her doctor authorized her to eat soft foods on day seven, especially because she had psychologically prepared for a long-term liquid diet. The recovery, while difficult, yielded mostly positive surprises. Improvements began fairly quickly following surgery. “I breathe so much easier,” Konovalenko explained. “My smelling abilities increased geometrically so much that I might write a comic book about that.”
Alesia’s makeover has left folks on the internet drooling. “I swear, you look like a whole new person after the operation, but somehow, you’re even more beautiful” , replied another. “You look so beautiful ❤️” “I’m sure the swelling will go down further,” added another.
