It was the day I had been waiting for for many years, the day I was going to join my life with the man I loved.

She was holding a child in her arms, a little girl of about three. The atmosphere changed instantly. The silence became heavy, almost suffocating. The guests’ eyes turned to her, full of curiosity and anxiety. I had no idea what was going on.
She walked up to the altar and with a decisive gesture attracted everyone’s attention. No one knew her. Who was she?
What she said shocked everyone.
“He is the father of my child,” she said in a calm but pained voice. “And he is not who you think he is.”
