Two food influencers, Patrick Blackwood and Nina Santiago, were filming a restaurant review when a car unexpectedly slammed into the building, leaving them injured and their audience stunned.
The pair were dining at CuVee’s Culinary Creations in Houston on Saturday, recording content for their channel, when a driver accidentally rolled into the restaurant. Authorities said the woman behind the wheel thought she had shifted into park but had only taken her foot off the brake, causing the vehicle to lurch forward.
Video of the review captures the dramatic moment: glass from the window by their booth shatters, showering Blackwood, who sat closest, while Santiago tumbles out of her seat. The table is pushed back into the restaurant as the frame collapses into the room.
In the aftermath, both influencers shared updates with their followers. Blackwood, covered in glass, reassured viewers from the hospital: “I’m OK now… I wasn’t expecting this, but I’m glad I’m alive.” Santiago, waiting to receive stitches, echoed his sentiment, saying she was trying to smile through the shock: “This is the second accident this month… maybe I should be crying, but I just can’t.”

The two later returned to CuVee’s to finish their meal, with Santiago explaining that she wanted to confront her trauma head-on: “We came back just for peace of mind — and because the food is actually amazing.”
Both influencers later posted images of their injuries, with Blackwood showing a stitched laceration along his jaw and Santiago revealing cuts on her face and hands.
Reflecting on the experience, Santiago wrote on Instagram: “This showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you — this could’ve been our last meal.”
Restaurant staff confirmed no one was severely harmed and said they were grateful for the community’s support as repairs get underway.
