A pregnant woman demanded that I give up my seat on the plane and I had to do something unexpected 😥😥
A recent business trip turned out to be a real test. The day before departure, I ate sushi from a new place – and paid dearly. I spent the next two days confined to the four walls of the bathroom.
But it was impossible to cancel the trip: an important meeting that had already been postponed twice. To minimize the risks, I chose and paid for a seat near the toilet in advance – the ticket cost twice as much, but what could I do?
The plane began to land. I settled in, the neighbors were politely greeting me. And then a woman with a belly and an absolutely calm expression on her face came up to me, as if I owed her, she said.

“Excuse me,” she said, “could you give me your seat? I’m having a hard time right now, and it would be convenient to be near the toilet.”
To say I was surprised is an understatement. She didn’t look bad.
I apologized and explained the situation: recent poisoning, need to be near a toilet, paid reservation.
“But you understand that it’s hard for me? I’m pregnant, can’t you see?” she continued, less kindly.
I refused again. I paid for this seat and I wanted to sit there.

The situation was getting tense. Passengers started turning around. A pregnant woman called a flight attendant, but then I did something unexpected, after which the woman fell silent and returned to her seat. I think I did the right thing. I’m telling you what I had to do and I hope for your support.
“Sorry,” I said, already looking at the girl, “if you want to sit here, just pay me for the ticket. Like I did.”
There was silence for a few seconds. The woman looked at me intently, then at the stewardess, and without saying a word, turned around and walked back to her seat.

The flight went smoothly. And I was once again convinced: sometimes, to defend your place, it is enough to be honest, firm – and book a ticket at the toilet in time.
