New parents noticed that their dog was sitting next to the crib every night and not moving: they decided to install a camera 😱😱
When a daughter appeared in the young family’s home, their golden retriever Laura immediately took on the role of nanny. Dogs in general often become devoted companions for children, but Laura’s behavior quickly became strange.
But then something very strange began to happen. For a week, every night, Laura would go to the baby’s crib and sit down without moving. She wouldn’t lie down, she wouldn’t fall asleep, she wouldn’t even go out for a drink of water. She would just sit there, staring at the baby and whining quietly from time to time.

“He’s probably guarding,” Mom smiled at first.
But with each passing day the dog’s behavior became a stranger. She sat by the crib until the morning while her parents slept in their room, and in the morning she behaved as usual, ate, slept, played.
The young mother was beginning to be frightened by the dog’s behavior. “Why is she doing this? I’m really worried about our daughter. Should I take her to the vet?”
To allay their anxiety, the couple installed a night vision camera, pointing it at the baby’s crib. In the morning, they watched the recording – and were dumbfounded by what they saw… Their daughter, she was in danger..

At around 3:12 am, Laura suddenly stood up, growled, and began barking loudly towards the window. But the recording clearly shows: the window sash opened slightly. Not immediately, slowly. And then someone — someone’s hand — tried to push the screen through.
The dog, having torn itself from its place, rushed to the window, tore the curtain with its teeth and jumped onto the windowsill barking. The hand disappeared. A second – and silence.
The mother grabbed the phone and called the police.
It later emerged that a criminal had been operating in the area for several weeks, breaking into homes through first-floor windows. He targeted families with infants to catch the parents off guard and defenseless.
He was caught two days later, following traces left by the window, where pieces of fabric from a glove and drops of blood remained – Laura had bitten him after all.
From then on, the young couple never locked Laura in the kitchen at night. She slept in the nursery, calmly, curled up by her crib. She didn’t whine anymore.
She did her job. She’s just protected.
