Dan Rivera, a paranormal researcher known for touring with the infamous “haunted” Annabelle doll, passed away suddenly while on the Devils on the Run tour in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
According to Adams County coroner Francis Dutrow, Rivera’s cause of death was heart-related and officially ruled as natural. The report also made clear that Annabelle was not in the room at the time of his passing.

Rivera, an Army veteran and senior investigator for the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), had a long history of studying alleged paranormal phenomena and was one of the handlers of Annabelle—the Raggedy Ann doll that inspired The Conjuring films.
Pennsylvania State Police confirmed no suspicious circumstances at the scene, stating Rivera was found in his hotel room by staff.

Annabelle’s chilling legend dates back to the 1970s when the Warrens, famed paranormal investigators, declared the doll “demonically possessed.” Over time, Annabelle became one of their most infamous cases and the basis for several Hollywood films.
Though Rivera’s death is confirmed as unrelated to the doll, the unsettling lore of Annabelle continues to capture worldwide fascination.
