Because of his excess weight, he did not leave the house, ate, washed and worked in bed. One day he realized that this could not continue any longer, and decided to lose weight.

In 2017 ,the name of Juan Pedro Franco thundered around the world – the man got into the Guinness Book of Records as the heaviest person on the planet. At that time, his weight was approaching a terrifying 600 kilograms.
He had been confined to his bed in his apartment for years,his life seemingly slowly fading away . But it was this alarming record that became a turning point – a chance for salvation.
Doctors, the public and Juan himself understood: time was running out . A team of more than 30 specialists worked to save him: surgeons, nutritionists, endocrinologists, cardiologists, psychologist.

Obesity there was wreaking havoc on his body— Juan was diagnosed with hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and serious liver and other organ problems. He first needed to lose weight to begin the main phase of treatment.
Preparation for the gastric bypass began with a strict diet and medical supervision. Through the efforts of doctors and Juan’s own enormous willpower , he managed to lose 170 kilograms , making the surgery much less risky .

He subsequently was exposed several surgeries, during which his stomach was reduced by 75 % .
The process was not easy and lasted for years. But the result was amazing: in three years, Juan lost more than half of his initial weight.

Today, he weighabout 250 kilograms and continues to move towards his goal of a full and active life.More surgeries await him, including removal of excess skin, which itself weighs almost 95 kilograms .
